The Vision The RDI system will represent the driver of the knowledge society development in Romania, being able to support the innovation in all the fields that contribute to the welfare of the citizens and also to reach the internationally acknowledged scientific excellence. The RDI system should be open to: –The business sector; –The international environment; –The education system; –The society.

8 Romanian Research, Development and Innovation Strategy 2007-2013 Specific objectives for 2013 (I)  Improve the position of Romania in ISI publication ranking from 48 th to 35 th ;  Ten times increase the number of EPO patents;  Three times increase the number of national patents;  Double the share of innovative companies;

9 Romanian Research, Development and Innovation Strategy 2007-2013 Specific objectives for 2013 (II)  Three times increase in the number of researchers; researchers’ age average under 40 years;  Improve the research carrier attractiveness;  Three times increase in the number of doctoral students;  Focus on excellence by attracting the best researchers from all over the world.
