TCA PURPOSE Mission: to advance our state economically and culturally by investing in a creative Texas. award grants promote the arts provide specialized services to the arts and cultural industries

TEXAS TOURING ROSTER Eligibility: all Texas artists, bands, arts groups, and nonprofits providing professional performances and arts presentations Dance, music, theatre, storytelling, writing, media/film, visual arts, opera, folk arts Performance, artist talk, lecture-demo, workshop, master class, residency Taking the arts across the state

We expect Roster artists to: Represent TCA and serve as our ambassadors High artistic quality Professionalism Community impact Make own bookings

TCA’S ROLE TCA maintains the Texas Touring Roster TCA provides answers, feedback, advice We may conduct programmatic site visits TCA supports performances

ARTS RESPOND Performance Support Grants Support performances and arts services by Roster artists through grants to presenters

ARTS RESPOND PERFORMANCE SUPPORT Funds professional artist fees for a presenter to hire an artist from the TCA Touring Roster Grant request is up to 50% of artist’s fee & eligible expenses

ARTS RESPOND PERFORMANCE SUPPORT Eligibility: Presenter-- all Texas nonprofits and units of government (schools, libraries, and colleges) Match requirement: dollar for dollar (1:1) Deadlines: varies; awarded quarterly

ARTS RESPOND PERFORMANCE SUPPORT Quarterly grant application deadlines For performances occurring: Quarterly deadline: September 1 – December 14August 1 December 15 – March 14November 1 March 15 – June 14February 1 June 15 – August 31May 1

ONCE YOU HAVE A BOOKING Contract vs. Letter of Agreement What’s the difference? Artist provides Optional contract clause Transportation, hotel, per diem

ONCE YOU HAVE A BOOKING Artist can provide the presenter with Technical specifications Curriculum/study guide Marketing materials

KEEP IN TOUCH With artists Make sure you share the same expectations Confirm booking details After performance: Say thanks, ask for input, share photos/quotes/reviews

KEEP IN TOUCH With granters (like TCA) Make sure you share the same expectations Return grant report form with documentation Say thanks, share photos/quotes/reviews Refer artists to us for the Roster

REMEMBER Next Performance Support deadline: May 1, 2011, for performances June 15- August 31, 2011.
