North Carolina Key Races  Senate: Elaine Marshall (D) / Richard Burr (R)  House: NC 2 – Bobby Etheridge (D) NC 8 - Larry Kissell (D)  Almost a million voters have been added to the rolls since Senator Burr (R) was elected in 2004.  Unaffiliated voters are growing at the expense of both Republicans and Democrats.  Turnover in the state legislature is of greater interest to advocacy groups than the congressional elections.  Obama carried the state’s 15 electoral votes in 2008.  By the 2012 election, the state is expected to have more electoral college votes than MI.
