Innovations in Lifelong Learning 29 June, 2007 Levels of Reflective Practice … After discussion with programme designers, decision made to offer the programme at two academic levels: Level 4 = first year undergraduate Level 6 = final year undergraduate (Honours)

Innovations in Lifelong Learning 29 June, 2007 Levels of Reflective Practice … It was decided that the programme could support academic work equivalent to 60 credits Also, in recognition of pattern of employment, that contact time should be low, supplemented by on-line support (website, email etc)

Innovations in Lifelong Learning 29 June, 2007 Levels of Reflective Practice … Certificate of Continuing Education (60 credits at Level 4) Exploring Theory: evaluation of journal articles, presentation + commentary Reflection on Practice: report on situational observation, reflective analysis identifying learning involved

Innovations in Lifelong Learning 29 June, 2007 Levels of Reflective Practice … Graduate Certificate (60 credits at L6) Engaging with Communities of Practice: critical evaluation of articles, presentation + commentary Critical Reflection on Practice: reflective commentary giving in depth consideration to one aspect of practice (project/process)

Innovations in Lifelong Learning 29 June, 2007 Levels of Reflective Practice … In both cases delegates will be required to integrate theory with consideration of process Involves sophisticated process of drawing on both experience-based learning and academic models Emphasis on performance assessment and level of demand
