Contents What is Cloud Computing? Types of Cloud Services of cloud computing Why Cloud Computing? How Cloud Computing works? Advantage and Disadvantage of Cloud computing 2 Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is a totally internet based technology. Basically “cloud” signifies the internet and “Computing” describes the technology. Cloud computing describe how computer programs are hosted and operate over the internet. What is Cloud Computing? 3 Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing

Types Of Clouds Public Cloud: the services are delivered to the client via the Internet from a third party service provider. Example: Amazon, Yahoo, Google Private Cloud: these services are managed and provided within the organization. There are less restriction on network bandwidth, fewer security exposures and other legal requirements compared to the public Cloud. Example: HP Data Centers Hybrid Cloud: allow data and/or applications to be moved from one cloud to another. This can be a combination of private and public clouds that support the requirement to retain some data in an organization. 4 Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing

Public Clouds 5 Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing

Hybrid Cloud 6 Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing

IaaS : Infrastructure as a Service PaaS : Platform as a Service SaaS : Software as a Service Services of cloud computing 7 Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing

SaaS Software as a Service complete applications, customizable within limits, No hardware or software to manage Service delivered through a browser 8 Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing

No need to directly manage OS, databases, etc. APIs for building higher-level applications. Pre-built application components. Examples Google App Engine Database Mosso AWS: S3 9 Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing PaaS Platform as a Service

No need to purchase or manage physical data center equipment  Servers  Storage  Networking 10 Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing IaaS Infrastructure as a Service

Advantages Lower cost of ownership Reduce infrastructure management responsibility Allow for unexpected resource loads Faster application rollout IaaS PaaS SaaS 11 Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing

Why Cloud Computing?  Pay per use  Save Time  Security  APIs 12 Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing

How Cloud computing works? Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing 13

Example Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing 14

Cloud Computing Pros Reduced Hardware equipment for end users Improved Performance Lower Hardware and Software Maintenance Instant Software Updates Pay for what you use Flexible Prepared By : Bhavin Tank CCSIT, Junagadh. Cloud Computing 15
