2. Developmental Goal Your own philosophy of education is very important because it provides focus and emphasis for your teaching. Working to communicate your philosophy helps you to become aware of your own goals and values, which prepares you to integrate them with the goals and values directed by your school district and your community.

3. Objectives Students will identify their own belief system concerning education. Students will express their philosophy of education by writing a poem, developing a collage, writing an essay, or creating a brochure.

5. Motivator (Anticipatory Set) Imagine you are starting a brand new school. You want to hire educators whose philosophies either reflect your own or are compatible with yours. What characteristics will those teachers have?
