2  Thomas Edison’s full name is Thomas Alva Edison  Thomas Edison was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio.  Thomas is the seventh and last child of Samuel and Nancy Edison About Thomas Edison

3 The First Invention Thomas Edison’s first great invention that developed in Menlo Park was the tin foil Phonograph. He got the idea while working to improve the efficiency of a telegraph transmitter. This caused him to wonder if he could record a telephone massage. So he began to experiment until he made it play back the massage he recorded “Mary Had A Little Lamb”.

4 Thomas Edison had a great challenge and it was the development of a practical incandescent, electric light. Many people think that Thomas Edison invented the light bulb but actually he didn't’t he just improved a 50 year old idea and it was a success. Thomas Edison’s Great Challenge

5 Thomas Edison’s Failures Thomas Edison held 1,093 patents for different inventions. Many of the inventions like the light bulb and the phonograph were brilliant creations that have a great influence on our every day life. However not everything Thomas created was a success he also had a few failures.
