CME and CPD It was underlined that emphasis on CME and CPD is very important to increase patient safety which is a very hot item in these years.

DOMUS MEDICA EUROPA Finalization of “Domus Medic Europa” in Brussels. Cost 2.5 mill. EURO Meeting facilities also for our section

In 2013 there was 41 sections, 23 divisions and 10 multidisciplinary committees'. 21 functioning European examinations.

Professional Qualification Directive UEMS demand at least 5 year education period. EU parliament could not at the moment accept that!! It is the impression that members of EU Parliament do not care of doctors opinion. Lobbying is therefore important for national delegates to their national parliament members

EACCME income 1/3 – National accreditation authority. 1/3 – Section and board. 1/3 – Goes to EACCME itself

E-learning During the meeting I participated in a work group on postgraduate training based on the Minerva platform from Sheffield University

Middle East Countries There is great interest in the Middle East in all UEMS activities. Many countries want to be associated to UEMS in one way or another

Medical malpractice In some countries in Europe ( Great Britain) it is now impossible to have private practice because the insurance for example for the individual doctor can exceed 100.000 pounds/year
