Henderson 8/17/08 Lesson # 32 3 Complete in Him Col 2:9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, Deity - theótētos - indicates the "Divine" essence of Godhead, the personality of God (Vine) contrast with “divine nature ” in Rom 1:20 dwells – katoikeō - compound word from "to dwell,” "to inhabit as one's abode,” is derived from the Sanskrit, vic, "a dwelling place" (Vine) Kata, prefixed, means "down," thus showing permanence. (Wuest)

Henderson 8/17/08 Lesson # 32 5 Complete in Him :10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; Literally: you are having been made complete you are - eimi – the state in which someone or something continuously exists having been made complete – pleroo - in the passive voice, "to be filled, made full" related verse: Eph 3:19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
