Lab 231 Characters- Estela, Jose, Uncle Freddie Setting – Sometime during the school year at a middle school in a neighborhood in Fresno California, Uncle’s house, racquetball court Story Problem- Jose wants to get Estela’s attention, but after three weeks of trying he hasn’t had any success. Events 1. Jose tries impressing Estela by doing well on his history quiz and showing off his scraped chin from a bike accident. Neither effort succeeds.

2.Jose notices that Estela plays racquetball and challenges her to a game even though he has never played before. She accepts after Jose brags that he is good. 3.Jose visits his Uncle Freddie to borrow his racket and get advice about playing. 4.Estela and Jose play, and she beats him twenty-one to nothing. Resolution- Jose returns the racquet to his uncle. The game has left him with a bruise on his back and a broken heart.
