7 Stage 2-MU Stage 2 criteria - places an emphasis on health information exchange between providers to improve care coordination for patients Key New Stage 2 objectives: ◦ Interoperability ◦ Patient Portal - Record electronic notes in patient records ◦ Physician, Care Providers and Hospital Medical Record Exchange ◦ Requiring interfaces in order to coordination with other entities and State Sponsored Programs ◦ Use cost savings approach by sharing services with other HIT providers 3/11/2014Mark Renfro, HTH

8 Stages of EHR Maturity Patient Collaboration Coordinated Care The third stage begins when enough patient data is connected, so that it allows multiple organizations to coordinate their care between each other through case tracking and management such as identifying health risks.
