Funded by the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Commission. Started in October 2009. Composed of 4 partners from 3 European countries (Italy, UK, Malta) The primary aim of the project is to transfer and re invent an exisiting educational based thinking tool (The Capture System) and embed the new tool in 4 target groups within the creative Industries sector: Apprentices and people working within the applied arts sector Vocational and Educational Training (VET) students VET trainers and tutors Creative Professionals The background of the project

The Capture System An innovative teaching tool developed by Capture Arts (UK) Combining Creative Thinking tools and art based activities Used successfully in the UK with children and adults Increases divergent thinking abilities and problem solving skills Transferring the Capture System To adapt and re invent the Capture System so it can be used within the Creative Industries sector To test and disseminate the new teaching tool in Italy, Malta and the UK. A transfer of innovation

To develop and implement a new Creative Thinking tool for practitioners, Vocational & Educational Trainers (VET), apprentices and students working and training in the Creative Industries sector To develop a final product that will be available as an accessible on-line tool and guidelines in paper format. To identify the learning needs of people working or training to work in the creative industries sector. To provide a VET teaching tool/module that is applicable in the creative industries training sector. To create a tool that is transferable to different geographical contexts, which responds to the local needs identified. To actively involve the target groups in the development and transfer process. Phase 1 Local Research Interested participants from the 4 target groups were identified after a call for interest to participate in the project. Workshops and interviews were conducted in Palermo, Bologna, London and Malta. A preliminary study of the findings from these workshops was carried out. The major barriers and challenges faced by members of the target groups were identified. Implementing the ideas

Phase 2 Development of the new Creative Thinking tool Data collected from the workshops will be used to develop the first prototype of the new creative thinking tool. Phase 3 Testing the new thinking tool The prototype will be tested with the project focus groups and refined according to their feedback Developing the new tool

Phase 4 Dissemination The final Creative Thinking tool will be disseminated across the EU through the project website (www.handmadecreativethinking.eu)andwww.handmadecreativethinking.eu)and A paper version of the guidelines will also be available from the project partners. Local seminars will be organised by the project parters to disseminate and explain how the creative thinking tool can be used A final European wide conference will be organised towards the end of the project to further disseminate the tool at an EU wide level.
