To compare the area you live in to the Ribble Valley. The purpose of the enquiry is for you to gain an understanding of the area that you live in. You will also be able to compare where you live to other areas in East Lancashire and the United Kingdom. Important skills will be used. For example enquiry, graphical and interpretation.

2. Starter Complete the questionnaire. Remember be honest! Task 1: The location of Pendle and the Ribble Valley 1.Mark on your map Pendle and the Ribble Valley. 2.Study the map and record the main physical and human features around each settlement. Physical = Natural e.g. hills, rivers. 3.Write a paragraph comparing the two areas. Task 2: Photographic Images In your pairs study the pictures of houses on the PowerPoint slides. Decide whether the house is located in Pendle or the Ribble Valley. How did you decide which image matched each area? Which area do you think is better? Why? Where would you most like to live? Why?
