3 Food Rice is eaten in all meals Rice cakes are eaten for snacks They now eat sushi, foods around the world, tempura sukiyaki and Japanese foods Sushi contains, seafood, rice, and seaweed

4 Climate In winter, it rarely drops below 32 degrees In spring it’s just the right temperature In summer it is high in the 90’s In fall it is around 46 degrees to 50 degrees The average temperature ranges from 63 degrees F in the southern portions and in the extreme North The hottest temperature is about 106 degrees The hottest night in Japan went up to 87 degrees F, it was the hottest night in 136 years

5 Celebrations/Traditions There are 26 celebrations and some are similar to traditions in the U.S These are some examples of traditions: not wearing shoes in the house, bowing, impolite to introduce yourself, and tipping is impolite If a holiday is on a Sunday, the Monday after it turns into a holiday A regular day between 2 holidays turns into a holiday in every month except June
