The world around us is… Forests Lakes, oceans,and rivers Mountains Rain forests Deserts

Animals and plants live in the environment.

We are humans. We share the world with plants and animals.

Humans do many things than can either… Help the world OR Hurt the world

Building a road through a forest ruins animals ’ homes. The animals could be injured or without food. This HURTS the environment.

Many species of animals are disappearing from the Earth because people are shooting them. This is called extinction, and it HURTS the environment.

When people throw trash on the ground, it can make its way to animals’ homes and hurt them. This HURTS the environment.

Cutting down trees in forests where animals live ruins their homes. This HURTS the environment.

Coral reefs are home to many of the world’s ocean animals. When swimmers and divers touch coral reefs, part of it dies. This HURTS the environment.

Saving the rainforests is good for the animals and plants that come out of them. This HELPS the environment.

Recycling paper and other materials saves trees from being cut down. This saves animals’ homes. Recycling HELPS the environment.
