Large Intestine Absorbs water and electrolytes. Helps eliminate waste. It is about 1.5 m long and 6.5 cam wide 4 major parts- cecum, colon, rectum and anal canal.

Small Intestine Portal for all nutrients into the blood. Provides nutrients to the body. Approx. 6m long. Located in the middle of the abdomen 3 parts-duodenum, ileum, jejunum.

Pancreas Located beneath the stomach. Produces enzymes. Enzymes help digest fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. Makes substance that neutralizes stomach acid.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) A common intestine disorder. Affects the colon. May cause abdominal cramps, bloating, constipation and diarrhea. Can be controlled by eating habits and reducing stress or medication to relive symptoms. There is no cure
