9 7.6 Diarrhea – when feces moves through the colon too quickly and there is not enough time to eliminate excess water 7.7 Constipation – when feces moves through the colon too slowly and too much water is absorbed 7.8 Laxative – medication that increases the speed of peristalsis and feces movement speeds up 7.9 Rectum – end of the colon for feces collection 7.10 Absorption – the passing of fluid and nutrients from one side of a membrane to the other
