6.  This is a failure of epic proportions  US knows of plans to attack here in January of 1941  Hideki Tojo takes control in October 1941  We ignored many warning signs US had broken their secret code We know what they are planning  Japanese fleet leaves Japan on November 25 th, 1941  Peace talks break down in December 1941  What happens on December 7 th is nothing short of a disaster

7.  Six aircraft carries with 180 planes attack at 7:55 AM  There are two separate attacks (8:55 AM)  Attacks on other bases on Oahu as well  The entire attack lasts less than two hours  The aftermath: 2,403 dead 1,178 wounded 21 ships sunk or damaged 300 aircraft damaged or destroyed  Three aircraft carries did escape
