Role of Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development (DASD) under NHM Directorate is Responsible for coordinating and monitoring the activities on development of arecanut, spices, and aromatic plants. Responsible for organizing National level training programmes, seminars and workshops on spices and medicinal & aromatic plants on regular intervals. Directorate supplements the developmental efforts of the State Govt. by making available the nucleus planting materials of various HYV of spices and aromatic plants across the country, through a centralised nursery programme at major centres of cultivation.
