African Country; Largest in Africa Bordered by Egypt, Ethiopia etc, overlooking the Red Sea(Meaning we’re affected by Somalia’s piracy) Amongst Fastest growing economies Relies on export of mainly oil and Natural resources Main trading partners CHINA, JAPAN, RUSSIA etc

Part of the Arab League Summit against piracy Part of AU, LAS, OIC and NAM Observer in WTO Main Export Partners with China/Japan/Singapore/South Korea/Russia

Centre of international markets(due to location on Red Sea) Rich Natural Resources Rely on fuels, natural resources, agriculture etc Mainly rely on export and trade, part of the main transportation Shipping, where the Red sea(affected area) is our only opening

Stop piracy among the Somalia waters AGAINST the intervention of sovereign infringement pertaining to Somalia Welcomes any country (Especially countries whose water-trade routes bypass the affected area, affected by piracy, not limiting to only this issue, as well as countries with trade relations with us), to work together with Sudan to tackle this issue

Submitting a resolution Requesting for solutions suggested For the sake of self-country interests, we do not wish to adhere to any form of FOREIGN military intervention for worries of affecting our own country

Focus on two issues Root Issues poverty, Foreign ships polluting waters, lack of jobs, foreign weapon-carrying ships entering territorial waters Issue of Lack of Coastal Guard Security

Provide Jobs Establish a common pool of funds to have UN security peacekeeping ships to patrol area Training programmes for various areas eg. For Somalia to maintain their own coastguard navy Authorising neighbouring countries to prosecute pirate suspects under the condition that their countries are involved in a particular incident

Temporarily alter routes of ships passing by affected area
