3 A Free sample background from www.awesomebackgrounds.com © 2002 By Default!Slide 2 What are helping verbs?  Sometimes the words has and have help other verbs to show past tense.  HAS and HAVE are called helping verbs.  Use the helping verb “has” with a singular noun in the subject and with he, she, or it. –Ex: Ann has played the game. She has enjoyed it.  Use the helping verb “have” with a plural noun in the subject and with I, you, we, or they. –Ex: They boys have helped her. I have watched.
