9 Office of Environmental Health & Safety (OEHS) Fire Protection Emergency Action Plans (EAP) Fire drills Learn how to use a portable fire extinguisher Know the location of: Fire alarm pull stations (at exits or stairwells) Fire extinguishers Exits/exit stairwells Outside assembly area

10 Office of Environmental Health & Safety (OEHS) Hazard Reporting Report hazards or unsafe conditions to departmental supervisor or DSR Take defective equipment out of service and put warning label on it. If serious or imminent safety hazard is found, contact OEHS immediately. Calls to OEHS will be kept confidential

11 Office of Environmental Health & Safety (OEHS) Injury/Illness Reporting If serious, call Tulane Police Complete First Report of Occupational Injury/Illness Completed by employee and/or supervisor Submit to Workers Compensation Program Accident Investigation may be conducted

12 Office of Environmental Health & Safety (OEHS) Be Sure To Find Out Your Departmental Safety Representative (DSR) Emergency Response Procedures (fire, spill, injury, etc.) Building Evacuation Procedures (exits, assembly areas, alarm systems, etc.) as per the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) Location of Emergency Equipment (fire alarm pull station, fire extinguisher, eyewash station, safety shower, spill kit, etc.)
