They also make calculation to know fuels or chemicals to use.  You also need to keep track of your hours so you need to get your numbers right.  A good welder can tell you how many times 3/4 goes into four and a half without having to look for a calculator  Welders say “measure twice and weld once” because it will save you time

7. I'm surprised that welders can work as many hours they want but it all depends on what your working on. The hard part about it is that I need to be good at math & science. I also need to be good at problem solving & calculating which I'm not really good at. I have to be fast if I'm doing this job but I think it will be a little bit easy because I'm better at doing things physically.
