How do we determine the value of anything?  Benefits gained with it  Losses avoided with it  Who says it is of value?

What value does God place on human life?  Origin—Genesis 1:24-31

Genesis 1:27 ESV So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Word meanings  Created in God’s image  Created—Cut out, carve out, form by cutting  God-Elohim—Supernatural who originated and rules the universe  Image—A shadow, a likeness  Male and female—Let us—

What value do you place on human life?  All of your possessions, and all of your reputation  What is the value of an animal?

Value of humans  Reason for Evolution  Don’t have to answer to the God of the universe  Don’t have to accept personhood (made in God’s image)

Evolution is not science it is a religion – a belief system  Science is experiment after experiment to bring a conclusion  Belief system—Not always physical proof  Law of Gravity  Laws of physics  Laws of Energy—Thermodynamics — Energy can not be created or destroyed  Laws of Entropy—Tendency to go from order to disorder (example of your room, office, house, etc)

Death of Humans (persons)—Eternal results  Slaves—Well, they were not persons, they were just smarter animals  Fetus—Just blobs of flesh, not really persons  What does Scripture say?

Psalm 139:13–18 (ESV)  13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.

What does science say?  Two cells—sperm (seed) and Egg  When the egg is fertilized by the sperm, the new cell is totally different from either of the previous

What does common sense say?  Don’t kill your offspring

What can you do?  Set the standard no matter public or government opinion  Live the standard—Don’t be hypocritical  Protect the unborn  Speak up

Proverbs 31:8 (NLT) Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.

Personhood—  14 th Amendment  Science long time has held that life begins at conception  Life at Conception Act-Bill being presented in Congress by Rand Paul  Science shows that life starts at Conception

Value of a person who has been born deformed or disabled. Value is not lost just because a person becomes disabled.  Man born lame or man born blind—  Great value for each of these  What happens when a nation begins to destroy their babies and children?
