Staff Issues 2011 Budget – Reduction of Staff and COLA -Commitment to voluntary separations of staff members, not including the expiration of short term contracts -Assurance of equality in the benefits packages -Compliance with the COLA Performance Evaluation System -We are currently in the third stage of the pilot phase -Implication of relinquishing the right to appeal by accepting the evaluation Contracts, competitions and reclassifications -Assurance from SAF that the process of contracts, competitions and reclassifications will continue -Competition for continuing contracts will be opened in the near future to comply with the regulatory quota

Staff Issues (cont.) Review of the General Standards -Mandate of the Special General Assembly -What is sought is the simplification of the number of contracts without the elimination of benefits -The Administration gave assurances that it would work with the Staff Association with regard to the proposal to be presented to the CAAP Ombudsman -The General Secretariat was presented with a short-list of candidates willing to carry out these functions free-of-charge -The Committee is awaiting a response from the General Secretariat

Mixed Committees and Working Groups Mixed Health Committee -Possible negative impact on copayments by staff, given the reduction of the contributions made by the General Secretariat to the Health Fund in the Organization’s budget Paternity Leave and domestic Partnerships -Proposals presented to the Secretary General in October, 2010 -Also includes adoptive parents -Is currently being reviewed by the Department of Legal Services Lactating Mothers -The Committee will seek to formalize the ad-hoc practices in order for this issue to be included in the Staff Rules

Mixed Committees and Working Groups (cont) Tele-work -This issue will be readdressed with the goal of offering the same options offered by the Federal Government in Washington, D.C. Group on Gender -Presentation to the General Secretariat in July, 2010 of the results of the analysis of the situation on gender at the OAS

Staff Promotion Leo Rowe Fund Loans -During 2010, 33 loans were granted to contributing members of the Association. -In a survey to beneficiaries, 87% indicated that their field of study was related to their line of work and 16.1% of those concluded that their studies assisted in their reclassification or promotion within the OAS Terry Woods Awards -Awarded to Mr. William Berenson in 2010 Informative Workshops -Workshops on USA immigration issues -Workshops on investment and management of personal funds

Humanitarian Assistance Funds collected at staff request for: -Haiti -Chile -Colombia -Grenada “Backpacks for Haiti” -Support to the OAS initiative for the reconstruction efforts in Haiti Toy Drive for the “Clínica del Pueblo”
