20411B Demonstration: Navigation in Windows Server 2012 (optional) Administering Windows Server® 2012 In this demonstration, you will learn how to: Configure Hyper-V to use Windows key combinations in the virtual machine Sign in and Sign out Access Applications Access Control Panel Use Shortcut Keys As part of the classroom setup, Hyper-V should be configured to pass through Windows key combinations. This makes it much easier to move around the user interface in Windows Server 2012 when the ability to use keyboard shortcuts is assumed. Verify that this setting is configured with students on their computers: On the host computer, open Hyper-V Manager. Right-click the host computer in Hyper-V Manager and click Hyper-V Settings. Under User, click Keyboard and then click Use on the virtual computer. Click OK. Open a virtual machine and show the following: How to sign in Administrative Tools are now in the Tools menu of Server Manager Moving the mouse in the lower right corner provides access to: Settings: This includes Control Panel and Power Start menu: Access to some applications (note that you can start typing on this screen to start searching) Search: Search results are filtered by Apps, Settings, and Files Shortcut keys: Windows: opens the start menu Windows+I: opens Settings Windows+C: opens same menu as moving the mouse to the lower right corner Windows+R: opens the Run window
