Program Description $7.9 m Sustainable Broadband Adoption (SBA) Grant Awarded September 29, 2010 Three components: ◦ Seniors and Adults with disabilities Digital literacy Overcoming social isolation through social networking Healthy aging and brain fitness ◦ Digital Media Create broadband channels for viewing local digital media content Neighborhood based new media training and distribution Youth digital media training ◦ City College of San Francisco Digital media Home-based online business

Target Populations Seniors ◦estimated 42% broadband subscribership Adults with disabilities Low income ◦estimated 41% broadband subscribership English as a second language

Expected Outcomes 5,000 new subscribers ($1,900/sub) 25,000 residents participate in training 300,000 training hours per year 75 Direct jobs created
