A dedicated team of officers is tasked to deal with burglary crimes and relentlessly target offenders All known repeat burglars are referred to the Integrated Offender Management (IMPACT) team to ensure early intervention and prevent re-offending Provision of a “Bobby Van”, which provides security assessments and advice to victims (as well as improved security fittings) for repeat or vulnerable victims Maximisation of engagement of Neighbourhood Watch volunteers Dedicated priority crime Detective Inspector to manage burglary and acquisitive crime Every victim of household burglary will be visited by their local Safer Neighbourhoods officer Dwelling Burglary related activity:

Somerset Family Focus project focused on reducing ASB committed by members of the most disadvantaged families Local officer identified to work with every vulnerable victim Early intervention initiative “Choice or Consequences” programme for 14-17 year olds Engaging Special Constabulary and volunteers to reduce night time economy related ASB in town centres, such as Frome Support for Community Speedwatch and Safety Camera vans to reduce incidents of excess speed and to reduce road casualties Maximisation of contribution from Special Constabulary and volunteers to support Trading Standards and test purchasing initiatives to reduce under age drinking Dedicated Schools Officer, working in all secondary schools across district Robust targeting of emerging hotspots and follow up with longer term initiatives Routine patrol of ASB hotspots ASB activity:

Town police post now staffed by team of volunteers Long running ASB issues with a male living in town centre resolved Re-introduction of monthly “crime hour” on Frome FM with PCSO/local volunteer presenting the show Arrest ended “Great Escape” attempt in May 2012 when an offender tried to evade police by crawling into town storm drains High risk ASB victim and offender issues resolved working alongside many other agencies including ambulance, learning disabilities, social services High risk hate crime ASB victim issues resolved and on-going support continues. Working with licensed premises in town has led to a large decline in disorder/ASB issues in town, work continues Strong relationships/links formed with local school and college providing care for children and young adults with Aspergers Syndrome Frome Safer Neighbourhood team recognised as “SSN team of the year” at district awards Frome Patrol team recognised as “Patrol team of the year” at district awards Frome news & activity:
