Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa, Italy, in 1451. His parents named him after saint Christopher. When Christopher was about 14 he sailed to other places by the Mediterranean sea. Columbus figured out he had a good eye for navigation.

In 1451 Columbus was born. In the 1460s Columbus goes to work on trading ships In 1484 Columbus asks Queen Isabelle and King Ferdinand of Spain for money to go to the indies In 1492 Columbus sailed from Spain with his three ships the Niña, the Pinta and the Santa Maria. Christopher Columbus died in 1506

His main motive to prove the people of Spain wrong and find a route to Asia. The king and queen motives was to find riches for Spain. Another one of the king and queens motives was to Beat the other country’s to Asia.

Christopher Columbus’s sponsors were King Ferdinand and Queen Isabelle of Spain. They decided that it would be nice to have more riches for Spain. Columbus had requested that he get ten percent of the riches from the Indies. It was very difficult for Isabelle and Ferdinand to agree to such a large piece given to just to a sailor, but in the end they finally agreed.

He mistreated and killed American Indians. Columbus needed slaves to do his bidding and find gold for Spain. American Indians were perfect for that, since there life wasn’t as important as his, but that is how people thought back then. If you didn’t have a special talent or you weren't rich, then you were meaning less your life didn’t matter.
