2. The French Revolution was not only a great period for the country of France but for all of Europe. It set the precedent for so many great ideas and also removed the oppressive Old Regime. Napoleon Bonaparte was a great leader and was able to pull France together in a time of need. As the French approach the anniversary celebration, they should consider honoring Napoleon Bonaparte for his role during the revolution. Napoleon Bonaparte should be honored because he was a great military leader, established many reforms which helped France, and also was liked by his people.

3. Napoleon Bonaparte helped reform the French government when he gained power from the unstable directory (French). Napoleon Bonaparte’s reforms allowed France to turn around after many years of chaos during the revolution. Napoleon established the National Bank to allow for a better system of managing money in France (Napoleon Bonaparte). He also set up a public school system, which provided young men with a strong education. These educated men would then be appointed to government positions, which enabled Napoleon to remove corrupt governmental officials (Napoleon’s Empire). His Napoleonic Code setup a uniform system of laws, which allowed for more equality under the law (Napoleon Bonaparte).

5. The French Revolution was a time of great change in France. A celebration of the this great change would be nothing without honoring a great man like Napoleon Bonaparte. His role in rebuilding the country was monumental in France becoming a strong power in Europe. If the decision not to honor a man like Napoleon Bonaparte, you should not celebrate at all. Even with his failures, Napoleon was a great military leader, a strong political reformer, and a man that the people loved.
