To be able to use: Word Processing Software Spreadsheets Databases Presentation software Learning materials required – Computer Microsoft Office

5 Created by Janet Nichols Modified by Ivailo Chakarov 5 Purpose/Assessment of Module To give students an overall grounding in the use of common PC applications in solving business problems The course will consist of lectures and practical sessions over 12 weeks Assessment will be through 2 assignments Assessment 1 – production of a spreadsheet and report Assessment 2 – creation of a database and associated documentation and the delivery of a presentation.

Common database systems are: personnel systems, order/invoicing systems, warehouse systems, accounting systems etc.
