2.  Gathering Information is critical to making informed decisions.  High school diploma requirements have increased and key decisions must be made earlier  Helps in achieving personal goals.  Helps decide what level of education you need to reach your career goal.

3.  Have 220 Credits  Pass the Core Curriculum  Pass the CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam)  ELA: 350  Math: 350

4.  Must pass the CAHSEE to receive a High School Diploma in the State of California  Must pass both Math and English sections (with a score of 350 for each section)  If you pass one and not the other, you only have to re-take the section you did not pass.  There are opportunities to re-take it if you do not pass it.

5.  Official Transcripts are embossed with the school seal and signed by the Registrar  Unofficial Transcripts will not be accepted in place of official transcripts

6. Have you… Completed Health? 4 Semesters of PE? Made up F’s in core subjects? Do you have at least 160 Credits???? If you answered no to any of these questions, you need to see your counselor ASAP!!! TRANSCRIPT CHECK

8.  Over 100 Community Colleges in California  Earn a 2-year Associate of Arts Degree  No tests required (No SAT or ACT)  Options include Certificate programs, Associates Degree, or Transfer to 4-Year Colleges  Community College is College

9.  90% of all admitted transfer students are from a CCC  1/3 of UC bachelor’s degrees go to transfer students  UC offers a space to every UC-eligible CCC student  Seven campuses offer transfer admission guarantees  The University increased its new transfer enrollment target by 500 two years in a row  Long-term plan is slow growth of new transfer students

10.  23 campuses  4 year Universities with degree programs (Bachelors and Graduate Level)  A-G Requirements must be met  Minimum GPA of *2.0 (3.0 recommended)  SAT Reasoning (Critical Reading and Math) or ACT * For GPA’s between 2.0-2.9, students must determine minimum eligibility (Eligibility Index). For example:  2.0 = 1300 SAT (CR & Math only) or 30 ACT  2.5 = 900 SAT (CR & Math only) or 20 ACT  2.9 = 510 SAT (CR & Math only) or 10 ACT

11.  9 undergraduate campuses; 1 graduate campus  Four-Year Universities with degree programs (Bachelors, Graduate, and Professional)  A-G Requirements must be met  At least 3.0 GPA in (A-G) subjects (Should have a much higher GPA for most campuses)  SAT Reasoning (Critical Reading, Math, and Writing) or ACT (SAT Subject Test is optional)

13.  Programs vary according to size  Prefer students who have met the UC/CSU A-G requirements with at least a 2.0**  SAT I / ACT: Check catalogs for specific test requirements. **It is best to go online to get information on the college/university you are interested in for their specific entrance requirements.

14.  Money to pay for college or career school  Grants  Loans  Work-study  Scholarships  Apply for Financial Aid  Federal student aid: fill out Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov www.fafsa.ed.gov

15. Local Scholarship Packets will be distributed in December! Remember: This is money that is designated for Centennial Students. All students, regardless of post graduation plan, should apply for local scholarships.
