2 Delaware The Lady Bug is Delaware's official state bug.
Delaware was one of the original 13 colonies – the thirteen British colonies that rebelled and signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776 The Lady Bug is Delaware's official state bug. First John Deere Tractor The first tractor John Deere made is in the Messick Agricultural Museum, Inc. in Harrington, Delaware.

4 Maryland Is home to the Big Acorn! Built around 1850, this acorn-shaped gazebo can be found in Acorn Park! America's first umbrellas were produced in Baltimore, beginning in 1828. The state sport of Maryland is jousting, a competition between two armored contestants mounted on horses in which each tries to strike the other with a lance. The sport has been enjoyed in Maryland for 300 years.

6 New Jersey In 1869 New Jersey hosted the first ever professional basketball games! New Jersey has the most diners in the world and is sometimes referred to as the diner capital of the world. New Jersey is home to the Miss America pageant held in Atlantic City. The first baseball game was played in Hoboken. The first Drive-In Movie theatre was opened in Camden.

8 New York Chittenago is the home of L. Frank Baum, author of the "Wizard of Oz". It features a yellow brick inlaid sidewalks leading to Aunti Em's and other Oz-themed businesses. Chittenago is the location of an annual Munchkins parade. The first capital of the United States was New York City. In 1789 George Washington took his oath as president on the balcony at Federal Hall. New York was the first state to require license plates on cars

10 Pennsylvania Crayola Crayons were invented in 1903 by Binney & Smith and company in Easton, Pennsylvania. The word “Crayola” comes from the French word “craie” meaning chalk, and the word “ola” from oleaginous, which means oily! Actor Jimmy Stewart was born and raised in the town of Indiana, Pennsylvania. Each year at Christmas the downtown area is decorated in the theme of the film "It's a Wonderful Life". Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was once the United States capital city.

12 West Virginia Has the world’s largest teapot!
In 1938, Chester had the largest pottery industry in the world. To celebrate this fact, a giant teapot was brought to the city. At 14 feet high and with a diameter of 14 feet, it is the largest teapot in the world!

13 The Capital of West Virginia? Charleston!
Remember the girl named Virginia. Now she's wearing a vest and doing a dance called the Charleston. Vest + Virginia = West Virginia. Charleston = Charleston. Orrrrr remember Virginia and Charles are married
