Sian Lloyd Born July , she attended Ystalyfera Bilingual School and performed at the Eisteddfod where she won the Crown. She then graduated with first class honours from Cardiff University and went on to study for a B-Litt at Jesus College Oxford. She has meteorology qualifications from the Met Office College, a distinction, regularly forecasts the weather and frequently appears in TV documentaries about the Weather.

Tommy Cooper Born in Caerphilly, South Wales. He was an all-time great comic and magician. He always wore a fez and was famous for his magic tricks going wrong!

Catherine Zeta Jones She was born on 25th September 1969 near Swansea in South Wales. Her stage career began at a young age, and by 1987 she was appearing in 42nd Street in London’s West End theatre. She is famous for her role in Zorro.

Sir Anthony Hopkins Born on December 31st 1937 in Port Talbot, South Wales.. His most famous film role was notably in the 1991 film Silence of the Lambs, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor. He has played many other great characters including Zorro – The Mask of Zorro with Catherine Zeta Jones, Nixon- Richard Nixon and Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Always proud of his Welsh roots, he donated 1 million pounds to the National Trust ‘Save Snowdon Campaign’ of which he is president

Carol Vorderman Carol was born 24th December Her primary school was St Mary's School, Rhyl, Wales. She attended Blessed Edward Jones High School, Rhyl, Wales before graduating from Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge with a Bachelor degree in Engineering. Carol, with an IQ of 154, then went on to obtain a Masters degree in Engineering, and has since established herself as TV's most popular science and technology presenter. She is most famous for her mathematical skills on Channel 4’s Countdown.

Richard Burton Born on November 19th 1925, in the village of Pontrhydyfen near Port Talbot, South Wales. As a child he excelled in school productions, and it was at this time that he began to develop the distinctive speaking voice that became his trademark. He went on to star in many cinema classics, including Alexander The Great, Hamlet, Where Eagles Dare, and probably most famously Cleopatra, in which he stared alongside his then wife, Elizabeth Taylor.

Dylan Thomas He was born in Swansea on October 27th He is considered one of the 20th century’s most important and innovative poets. His childhood was largely spent He died while in New York on a promotional tour, aged just 39. Following his death his body was brought back to Wales for burial in the village churchyard at Laugharne, where he spent many of his happiest and most productive times.

Sir Tom Jones Born 7th June 1940 in Treforest South Wales. He began singing at an early age, and it was apparent from his regular performances at family gatherings and weddings that was destined to be a star.

Bryn Terfel The World famous opera singer, Welsh baritone Bryn Terfel, was born on November 9th 1965 in Pantglas, North Wales, The son of a farmer, Terfel had an interest in and talent for music from a very young age.
