All students will complete 2 science GCSEs, Core Science and Additional science.

Core science GCSE comprises of 3 papers; B1 (May 17 th ), C1 (May 19 th ) and P1 (May 25 th ). Each of these papers is worth 25% and lasts for 1 hour. The remaining 25% is made up of controlled assessments (“ISAs”) which are covered in school Additional science GCSE also comprises of 3 papers B2 (June 10 th ) C2 (June 15 th ) P2 (June 17 th ) Each of these papers is worth 25% and lasts for 1 hour. The remaining 25% is made up of controlled assessments (“ISAs”) which are covered in school Students who have opted for triple science will take a further 3 exams, P3, C3 and B3.

All students have been issued with a revision guide. We will be selling workbooks and answers after Christmas. We will run additional support and revision sessions closer to the exams

How can we prepare your child for exams?

Little and Often The concentration span for a child in their teens is about 20-30 minutes, so remind them to stick to this amount of time, have a short break and then start again or on a different topic.

Stay Healthy Teenagers should be aiming for at least 60 minutes every day, including activities such as fast walking and running. A 14 year old needs 9 to 9.5 hours sleep per night
