Trending - Performance stability parameters shall be measured and tracked through spacecraft I&T and post-launch operations

Procurement Controls -Purchase raw materials will include requirements for results of physical and chemical tests or a C of C -Test samples or coupon -Age Control/Limited-Life records will track date, when useful life was initiated/expiration date -UCB requests inspection and test reports from suppliers with the deliverable item - QA reviews purchase order requirements for flight hardware Receiving Inspection - QA verification of documentation meets PO requirements, part marking/packaging and quantity

Fabrication Control - UCB generated assembly instructions for all flight hardware Workmanship - Soldering per NASA STD-8739.3, NASA STD-8739.2 - Cable,Harness, and Wiring per NASA STD-8739.4 - Conformal Coating and Staking per NASA STD-8739.1 - Printed Wiring Board per NHB 5300.4 Worker Certification - All technicians are certified per NASA standards above ESD Control - UCB ESD plan,THM-SYS-014-ESD revision A, 4/8/2004

Problem/Failure reporting - Problem/Failure reporting may be informal up to the time of integration with flight hardware - After flight software/hardware integration, problem/failure reporting will be in accordance with the standard failure reporting, failure analysis, and corrective action process

Alerts -Two alerts that impact THEMIS: Actels A54SX72 – surge current problem Diode JANTXV1N5711-1 ESD problem Printed Wiring Boards - Build per Mil-P-55110F with coupons Inspections and Tests - QA will verify soldering and witness component/system testing and review test records - QA will verify the installation and removal of Red Tag/Green Tag items prior to testing and launch Metrology - QA will verify that all equipment is in calibration prior to testing

16 THEMIS Instrument CDR(1) UCB, April 19 & 20, 2004 Quality Assurance cont. Handling - Handling equipment will be proof load tested twice intended load prior to use Shipping - flight hardware will be shipped with appropriate documentation and handling instructions

17 THEMIS Instrument CDR(1) UCB, April 19 & 20, 2004 Contamination Control UCB Contamination plan complete - Class 100k clean room - Air particle count will be monitored - All flight hardware will be placed in clean bags
