HALF-DRAWING Objectives: Illustrate and render half a photographic image to make it appear as a whole.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES ● Refine: observational skills and artistic perspection ● Develop: ● contour line drawing skills ● shading technique ● craftsmanship using graphite

1) Must occupy 80-85% of the page 2) Be of person or still life object. No landscape photos. 3) Must have textures 4) The background must include shapes or patterns. Cannot be blank. 5) Photos of people must be close-up. Shoulders and up. Image Guidelines

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS Part 1 ● Look for an image that occupies an entire page of 8.5” x 11” paper. ● Have the teacher approve the image ● Glue the first half down onto a white cardstock paper (thick sketch paper) ● Draw a grid on the negative area of the image.
