Background: Temporal asynchrony between speech production and its feedback to the auditory system causes: disruption of uent speech (Lee, 1950; Yates, 1963) slower speech rates, stuttering, intonation changes, and phoneme exchanges (Chapin et al., 1981). maximal disruptions at 200ms delay (Stuart et al., 2002).

Research Questions What neural structures are involved in adaptation to DAF? How does motor familiarity influence the DAF effect? - Compare early and late blocks - Compare normal and pseudo words/ sentences Activity in which regions predicts individual ability to speak under DAF? - Use behavioural performance scores (pre or post scan?)
