Isabel How were women educated in the early middle ages? They were not educated they instead stayed home. Those who did had private tutors or were homeschooled.

RANDY What was St. Thomas of Aquinas’ view on women and education? He didn’t think their was a need for them to be educated and said that the children should love their fathers mor than their moms

Carlos What was the purpose of women being educated? The education they received was training for motherhood and housewives.

Paradice What were women expected to be devoted to? Women were to devote their time primarily to “female labors” and prayers.

Valentina Why were women of the upper class expected to know how to read and write? Reading and writing for women meant “keeping busy they will escape the harmful thoughts, the pleasure and vanities of the flesh.”
