2.  GAIL (INDIA) LIMITED that is Gas Authority Of India Limited is a government sector company which transfers the Gas throughout the India with the help of pipelines.  As GAIL is having their official website of Gail Intranet but it includes all the Gas station of India.  So we are designing the website which includes all the data and information regarding to surat only.

3.  This website provides the employees for their better use regarding their own details and the plant information.  Our website provides various features and their description.  This project contains some of the features such as Daily Progress Report, Out-Station Details, HR management and various others.

4.  In our website some of the application which help employees are Call Logging System, No. of employees working in plant, No. of contract workers, Gail E- complaint system, Photo Gallery and many others.  This also contains all the departments which are their in the company.

5.  Daily Progress Report: The employees working in the plant have to write their daily progress report. It contains the documents regarding all the employees that are working in their field. This features use the H.O.D. of all departments to know about their employees working and progressing.  Out – Station Details : This features contains the details of the employees which are going out-station for their particular work.

6.  Finance & Accounts : The finance and account feature contains all the finance related information of the employees and their pay slip and all other salary and account of employee. This also contains budget, tax matters and circulars regarding the finance and accounts.  HR Management : This contains various types of HR details such as Senior Lists details, Overtime Details, Form under various acts, Labour Law Compliance Sheet. The training which are held in the plant can also be updated in this feature.

7.  Telephone Directory: All the details about the employees are available in this feature. So that the communication become easier between two employees.  Maintenance : This feature contains all the information regarding the plant maintenance work which are in progress n which are in future. The head of this department can updated the various information regarding the maintenance work being done in plant.

8.  Circulars: In this it contains all the circulars of the company with helps the employees to know the updating information.  Birthday Wishes : This is one type of additional feature in our website so that the employees can enjoy with each other by celebrating birthday and they can also send wishes directly to the person.  ISO Documents: This is the feature which contains the all the certified ISO documents of the company.

9.  Contract & Procurement : It contains all the information about the material pending for inspection, vendor list and other details of the meeting of C&P executives.

10.  The main aim of our project is to design a website of GAIL (INDIA) LIMITED, SURAT.  GAIL (INDIA) LIMITED is a very big company and having there GAS plants all over INDIA in each state almost.  So the I.T. department head want the website which only contains the information and details of SURAT plant only.  So, using our website employees can easily use for their easiness and they can easily know all the details and information of the plant.

11.  No. of workers working in plant: This is used to know the number of workers which are working in the different field of plant.  No. of contract workers in plant: It is same as the above but here the workers which are on the contract based working are counted.  No. of employees in plant: This is one type of attendance of the employees which are there in the company.

12.  Near Miss incident: Incase of emergency if any incident occurs in the company they using this it can be updated so that each and every employee know and take action against that incident.  Gail E-Complaint system : This is one type of complain box system. So that each employee can register there complain in this. Using this employee can easily write there complain in the blog and the complain can be solve as soon as possible.

13.  Fund Allocation: As we know there are various function are being held in the company, so these application is used to know the fund allocation in different activities and functions.  Canteen E-Portal system : This is the system which contains all the canteen data of each and every employee of the company.  Plant Duty Manager Rota : As the plant duty manager in the company are rotate after some period of time. Thus using this the employee can know their respective manager in their department.

14.  We are using DOT NET to develop this website.  As the company instructor suggest us to develop the website in DOT NET because the there are having windows based server.  DOT NET is used as it is : -- Platform Independent -- Easy Development -- Different Versions are there -- Automatic Memory Management

15.  Our website is only for the employees of GAIL (INDIA) LIMITED, SURAT plant only.  As GAIL is government company so for the privacy of the employees it is based on INTRANET.  Thus, the pant is having their own server for the employees to access this website using their username and password.  Other than the employees of the plant can not use this website.

16.  On 25/6/2012, we visited GAIL (INDIA) LTD.HAZIRA the HR departments of company suggest up to design the website of Gail (India) ltd. hazira plant.  As the GAIL is having their official website but it includes all the plants in India, so HR dep. Of Gail hazira suggest us to design the website which includes the information of only HAZIRA plant.
