GRENADA The royal anthem sung is ‘GOD SAVE THE QUEEN’. The capital is St.George’s,it is also the largest city. The national anthem sung by them is ‘HAIL GRENADA ’.

THE GOVERNMENT The Queen is “QUEEN ELIZABETH 2”. The government is “Parliamentary democracy & Constitutional monarchy”. The Governor General is “Sir Daniel Williams”.

Area & Population The total area of the land is 344 sq.km. The space ocupied by water is 1.6 %. The population is 110,000. Density is 259.5 / sq km.

About Grenada Grenada is an island nation that includes the southern grenadines in the southeastern carribean sea. Grenada is located north of Trinidad & Tobago.

History 1498-1958 The recorded history of Grenada begins in 1498. The Spaniards did not permanently settle in Camerhogue. Capital The island was a province of the short-lived West Indies Federation from 1958 to 1962. In 1967, Grenada attained the status of “Associated State of the United Kingdom”.West Indies Federation

Twenty-first century history In 2000-2002, much of the controversy of the late 1970s and early 1980s was once again brought into the public consciousness with the opening of the truth and reconciliation commission. Demographics A small percentage of descendants of East Indian indentured servants were brought to Grenada mainly from the North Indian states of Bihar.
