What is Potential Energy? oEnergy that is stored and waiting to be used later oCan be stored due to the object’s position, shape, or its chemical composition.

What is Kinetic Energy? oEnergy an object has due to its motion

What is Kinetic Energy? oEnergy depends on both the object’s mass and speed. oAs mass increases, KE (kinetic energy) increases. oAs speed increases, KE increases

Last BUT not least… 1. Look at the next two slides to practice identifying potential and kinetic energy. 2. On your foldable, write down at least two (2) examples of PE (potential energy) and KE (kinetic energy) 3. Cut out the pictures on the half sheet of paper and paste them in your foldable.
