3. PBIS Theme
Rotating themes throughout the years. Boswell uses a theme each year to engage students in our PBIS expectations. (*Staff voice)

PBIS Themed T-shirts – The PBIS team used to go around to area businesses to ask for donations so every student could receive a t-shirt. Now, we do charge $10 per shirt for every student that wants one. We sold 318 shirts in

5. Hallways
26 classes traveling 8 times per day. Often times, there are up to 9 classes traveling at the same time. Approximately 225 students in the hallway! (That doesn’t even count classes taking restroom breaks )

6. Cafeteria
Lunch Shifts begin 10:45 – 1:00. Every 3 minutes, a class arrives with 25 minutes to eat. This fills 24 tables with hungry 4th and 5th graders that are eager for social time.

7. Playground
300 4th graders on the playground during their recess times and 300 5th graders on the playground during their recess times. 5 supervising teachers on duty.
Currently, grade level teaching teams rotate duty for their team, which consists of approx. 125 students per team supervising teachers on duty.

8. Assemblies
Previously, Monday mornings were designated as weekly character assemblies.
Currently, monthly character assemblies are devoted to the monthly character trait. This could include teacher skits, student skits, guest speakers, awards, or video presentations.

9. Transportation
The bus continues to be a hot spot for ODR’s at Boswell. We have tried several different interventions in this area. We are celebrating this year that our bus referrals have dropped by 25%.
Buzz Bucks (PLINKO)
Previously, we held bus driver breakfasts each quarter to thank our drivers. The driver attendance was minimal.
Currently, we give quarterly thank you gift deliveries to the bus barn for the drivers. Gifts have a resupply of Buzz Bucks attached.

10. Our Newest Ideas
Videos production that teach/reteach our PBIS expectations. Boswell AV club You Tube Channel
Procedure Day – A booster session after Christmas break to review all of the settings on our matrix.
“You Got Schooled” – In order to involve our community more in our mission with PBIS, we started a traveling sign campaign.
Random Act of Kindness – We previously used a staff RAK notebook. To involve the students, we focus on being a “Bucket Filler” and doing kind acts during Random Act of Kindness Week.
