Middle Colonies Major Exports Furs, skins, cattle, grain, Tobacco, Iron, Ships, and Timber Slavery Not a large population, 7% lived in the cities Worked as laborers, servants, assistants to craftspeople There was a free black community in NYC / for a time had the right to own property Quakers spoke out against slavery and had an influence on immigrants coming to the Middle Colonies and eventually the entire country
