2. 1.1Why did you use a computer? What other systems / resources could you have used? I used a computer because it is easier to present towards year 6 children to understand. I could have done a poster on publisher to present to the year 6 children. I used PowerPoint presentation because the software is easier to use and edit to make it interesting and exciting for year 6 pupils. I could have used publisher to make a poster or leaflet. The reason why I didn't use other programs because they don’t contain sounds, animations and images which could be imported so therefore I used PowerPoint presentation.

3. 1.2What skills did you need to learn in order to use PowerPoint? The skills which I need to learn is to have knowledge on how to use a computer and the settings like knowing how to use animations, transitions effectively. In order to use PowerPoint presentation I will need to learn all the key skills which will allow me to use PowerPoint correctly and knowing how to use the Master slide to edit you slides on your PowerPoint. Hyperlinks would make my navigation system easier because it will instantly take me over to the slide.

4. 1.2What resources did you need to make the presentation successful? I need to use animations, transitions, pictures and videos. I had to use all of these resources to make the PowerPoint presentation interesting and professional, this is because I want to make the PowerPoint exciting towards young people so that they don’t think its boring and dull. I would have needed to use images of staff, head of house, students and facilities which this will show good quality images to show who they are, also I could have used graphs to show the results of the recent year 11 GCSE test papers. Another thing I could have done to make my PowerPoint presentation better is that I could have imported graphs or tables to show an example of time tables of a students school day.

5. 1.4What factors might have affected how well you completed the presentation? (e.g. time / attendance / knowledge of software) The amount of time we had to produce the presentation and the limited amount of memory space. So this was a problem which didn’t allow us to make the PowerPoint presentation to our best ability. If we had an extra hour I think we could have produce a better piece of work.. I would have needed to be able to use the master slide and to be able to use hyperlinks effectively. This is needed because of my navigation system, the master slide is needed so that I can produce my PowerPoint presentation due to being able to use this programme I can make the navigation system ten times quicker. Hyperlinks are needed because they are my main travel system to get from one page of my presentation to another.

6. 1.6Why did you use PowerPoint to make your presentation? What other software was available? Why did you choose not to use them? The reason why I used PowerPoint presentation is because it is the best software which is suitable to present a presentation towards year 6 pupils. The reason why I used PowerPoint presentation over any other software is because PowerPoint presentation is the most professional to use because I need to produce something which will encourage year 6 pupils to come to our school, and the best way to do this is by PowerPoint presentation so that I can produce the information that I need unlike publisher or Microsoft word which wont allow me to put all the information that I need.

7. 2.2Which tools within PowerPoint made it appropriate for your presentation? I am using the animation, formatting and transition tools so that I am able to produce an effective PowerPoint presentation so it looks more professional.by adding animation on slides as the slide is going onto the next slide it looks more appropriate and so that it is exciting and different instead of a dull and boring presentation. I could have used animations so that I could make the navigation system more easier to select form one slide to another.

8. 1.7Were there any legal constraints or local constraints that changed the way you created your presentation? (e.g. copyright, file sizes) The files sizes of the video files needed to be smaller because it made the PowerPoint presentation being not able to upload it to the assessment board. There was no copyrighted files in my PowerPoint and all the files was off the smiths wood shard area. The files sizes need to be zip sizes because there is a limited memory space on the shared area. I would also need to get permission and consent form staff members and pupils so that I do not break the copy right law. The files needs to be appropriate because the quality of the files like videos need to be up to a good standards.

9. 2.4What improvements do you think you could do to your presentation? If I could improve my presentation I would have added more slides which in those slides I would have presented more information about the amazing facilities of our school. Using animations and more clips with a different colour font would maybe make the presentations more interesting to year 6 children.

10. 3.2What improvements do you think you could have done to improve your work rate? To make my PowerPoint presentation better and to improve my work rate should have used shortcut keys like; Ctrl + s to save my work, ctrl + c to copy the files to use on my presentation, and then lastly Ctrl + p which will paste the files the files that I once copied from the shared area. When uploading the media files to the presentation to I could have used I smaller file to make the upload faster.
