4 Nile River Longest river in the world, at 4,180 miles. Two major tributaries – the White Nile, and the Blue Nilem White Nile is 2,300 mile long Drains from Lake Victoria and flows northward to Khartoum, where it connects with the Blue Nile. The Blue Nile flows south from Lake Tana, then west across Ethiopia, and northwest into Sudan.
