5. Student Expectations A Third Grade Student is expected to: Abide by class-generated rules and expectations (classroom constitution!) Respect other people and property. Be an active listener. Engage in lessons and class work at all times. Self-monitor and carry out all daily routines without reminders. Maintain appropriate standards of behavior. Set his or her own goals and strive to achieve them. Produce high-quality work that is reflective of his or her ability level.

6. Our Class Clip Chart! Students begin on “Ready to Learn.” Can be moved up and down the chart at any time.. Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior: Heading Towards Rock Bottom- Students are asked to reflect back on their behavior. Stung By a Jellyfish- Students must write a paragraph about changing their behavior Caught in a Net- Students fill out a form to be signed by parents.

7. Super Improvers Wall! (Academic Goal Achievement Motivation) All students start at “beginner.” Students will move up the chart throughout the course of the year as they continue to set and achieve goals, large and small. Students must fill their cards with ten stars before receiving a card on the next level.

20. PARCC: The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers New standardized assessments used in numerous states. Computer-based assessments in Mathematics and English Language arts/Literacy. Geared towards preparing students for college readiness. Keyboarding/computer practice is very important for success!

21. FIELD TRIPS! Franklin Mineral Museum- November 11 th East Brunswick Municipal Building Permission Slips will be distributed two weeks before each trip.
