2. Acceptable use policy: education  Technology in the district is for learning  Different types of technology in our district are:  Computers  Chromebooks  iPads  iPods  Some things you do at home might not be acceptable at school

Acceptable use policy: privilege  Use of our school’s technology and access to the Internet is a privilege, not a right  You may not:  Post personal information about yourself on the Internet (last name, phone number, address, etc.)  Repost information about someone without their permission  Log onto a computer with another person’s information  Violate copyright laws or plagiarize works you find on the internet  If you break these rules there will be consequences

Acceptable use policy: your promise  As a student with access to iPads, computers, Chromebooks, and the Internet, you promise to:  Follow the safety rules.  Tell an adult if anything makes you feel scared, uncomfortable, or confused or if you see anything inappropriate online.  Turn off your monitor until an adult can help you.  Not share your personal information online at school.  Not meet in person with anyone you meet online.  Not use rude or mean language on the Internet  Not respond to any message that is mean or makes you feel scared, uncomfortable, or confused.  Tell a trusted adult if you get those messages.

The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems. serious, lasting problems

Bullying Defined (by www.stopbullying.gov)by www.stopbullying.gov  In order to be considered bullying, the behavior must be aggressive and include:  An Imbalance of Power : Kids who bully use their power— such as physical strength, access to embarrassing information, or popularity—to control or harm others. Power imbalances can change over time and in different situations, even if they involve the same people.  Repetition : Bullying behaviors happen more than once or have the potential to happen more than once.  Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose.

Find Today’s Meet.  Click the link next to Today’s Meet  Check with the person next to you to see that you and s/he are in the right place.  Type your id number as your Nickname.

The media lives of all kids and families are not the same. Some kids are allowed to use more digital media than others, and some kids like these tools more than others.
