SAFETY AT SCHOOL Internet Safety Laws –Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), was created to help protect kids younger than 13 when engaged in online activities. –The Children's Internet Protection Act (also known as CIPA or the CHIP Act), Basic Requirement: requires the implementation of a “technology protection measure” – generally referred to as an Internet filter – to block access to visual depictions deemed “obscene,” “child pornography,” or “harmful to minors.
