2 Traditional analytic questions How long did it take? What data did we collect? How many participants? What was the participants remit? What is the context? How did you analyse the data? Would that happen again in the same or a similar situation? How many times did these things happen? Is that behaviour of type X?

3 Questions you should be asking Why did that happen? How did that happen? Why/how did that make sense? What caused that to happen? –Not why/how/what cause according to you, why/how/what cause according to the interaction

4 The actors point of view Concentrate on the interactional event, not on its constituent features How the behaviour is organised, not what it is This is the actors point of view argument
